Delage is reopening
Wednesday, September 16

Dear friends & guests,

For almost ten years, Delage has welcomed guests like you to the sushi counter for weeknight dinners and life’s many excuses to celebrate. Thank you for every visit.

I'm writing with some news: I'll be spending more time in Japan, and Delage will carry on in the hands of my dear friend of over fifteen years, Chef Kyle Itani, with Chef Jeremias Jimenez leading the sushi program. You may be familiar with Kyle’s other East Bay restaurants – Itani Sushi, Itani Ramen, and Yonsei Handrolls.

You may not know this, but the name Delage has always meant something simple: an invitation. "Dela" was my nickname, and "ge" is the Kyushu dialect word for house. Among friends, "Delage?" was shorthand for "should we go to Chikara's house?" Kyle will now care for this house, and I couldn't leave it in better hands.

Kyle and Jeremias will offer a full à la carte menu alongside an eight-course omakase, add lunch service, a focused cocktail program, and introduce a limited takeout menu while keeping the intimacy and craft that Delage has always stood for.

I hope you'll continue to visit, and that Delage feels as much like home to you as it always has.

With gratitude,
Chef Chikara Ono
